2. Description of Service

Kanna is an AI-powered learning tool that creates daily school practice exercises for children. The service uses large language models to generate, grade, and explain exercises. It includes:

AI-assisted generation of exercise sets, optionally based on documents you upload.
Automatic grading of answers and instant feedback.
An explanatory AI tutor chat for individual exercises.
Progress statistics and results review for parents.
Family households with parent and child accounts.
Secure server-side storage of accounts, documents, exercises, and results.

3. Account and Authentication

Accounts use an email address and password. A parent or guardian registers a household and may invite additional parents and children via invite links/codes. Invited users set their own email and password when accepting an invite. Parents are responsible for the child accounts they create and for supervising their use of the service.

4. Data Storage

All content you create or upload — including documents, generated exercises, answers, statistics, and embeddings — is stored securely on our own servers in Germany. Your data is never stored in third-party cloud storage. You retain full ownership of the content you create and upload. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your documents or data.

5. Price

The service is currently provided free of charge. To keep AI costs sustainable, usage is subject to fair-use limits (a monthly allowance of AI usage per user). We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we will update these terms and clearly communicate any charges before they apply.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to circumvent usage limits or restrictions.
Use automated tools to access the service or upload malicious content.
Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes intellectual property rights.
Attempt to compromise the security or integrity of the service.

7. AI-Generated Content

Disclaimer: Exercises, solutions, grading, and explanations produced by Kanna are AI-generated and may contain errors. They are an educational aid and should be reviewed by a parent or teacher. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or pedagogical suitability of generated content, and it is not a substitute for professional instruction.

8. Children

Child accounts are intended to be created and supervised by a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the child's use of the service and for the content made available to the child.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

10. Account Deletion

A parent can remove household members from the Family screen at any time. To delete an entire household, contact us at info@albatrossen.de. Upon deletion, the affected accounts, uploaded documents, generated exercises, answers, statistics, and embeddings are permanently removed from our servers.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Albatross Technologies UG shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, inaccuracies in AI-generated content, or service interruptions.

12. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. For consumers within the EU, the mandatory consumer protection laws of their country of residence apply in addition. The courts of Hamburg, Germany, shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes with merchants; for consumers, the statutory jurisdiction applies.
